First Gen in Med x Triton Firsts: FIRST IN MEDICINE

Triton First was proud to partner with First in Med to host a successful speed networking event for first-generation students pursuing careers in medicine. This event provided an invaluable opportunity for students to connect with medical professionals, gain insights into medical school applications, explore career paths, and hear firsthand experiences. We are grateful to everyone who participated and contributed to fostering a supportive community for future healthcare professionals!

What does it mean to be first in med?

To me, being a first-gen student in medicine is something I regard with a lot of pride. It definitely involves hard work and dedication, but I feel that it is also a way that I can show my gratitude to my family who have supported me and given me the opportunity to pursue medicine.

What does it mean to be first in med?

As a first-generation, low income student I believe that being first in medicine means bringing diverse perspectives and expeirences to the spaces you enter. It also means having gratitude for the sacrifices my family has made to support me on my journey and a desire to "pay it forward" by contributing to enhancing inclusivity in medicine for future first-generation medical students.
