First Gen Professional Support Group
UC San Diego staff and faculty are invited to join a supportive conversational space for First Generation Professionals (FGPs). This group centers on the lived experiences of FGPs, nurturing emotional well-being, fostering self-compassion, and building a strong sense of community. Come to connect, reflect, and grow with fellow first-gen colleagues.
Who Are First-Gen Professionals?
FGPs are individuals who:
- Neither parent or guardian graduated from a four-year university
- Are the first to complete professional school or enter a professional career
- Identify as a first-generation professional, coming from low-income or working-class backgrounds
- We’ll dive deeper into this definition in our group sessions!
What is our purpose?
Our purpose is to support the emotional well-being of FGP’s, foster self-compassion, build community, and center their lived experiences.
This group will be offered exclusively for the 2025 academic year. Don't miss out!
